Common questions

Does Sonora work without an internet connection?

Yes. After a one-time download of the AI models on first launch, transcription, summaries, tasks, clean notes, search, and asking your archive all run on the device and work offline.

Do I need an account?

No. Sonora does not require an account, a phone number, or a sign-in to capture, transform, search, or keep your notes.

Where are my notes stored?

In a local, encrypted archive on your device. By default nothing about your notes is sent off the device. You can delete individual notes or clear the archive at any time in the app.

Why is there an analytics setting if Sonora is private?

Analytics is off by default. If you choose to turn it on, it only sends anonymous usage signals such as which screens are used and error codes, never the content of your notes, search queries, or questions. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail.

Why does the first launch take a while?

On first launch Sonora downloads the on-device AI models so the app can then run offline. We recommend doing this once on Wi-Fi. After that, the app works anywhere.

Which devices are supported?

Sonora targets recent iPhones, which ship the neural hardware needed to run the models well. Android support is planned for a later release.
